Sanitary facilities in the WWS
Sanitary facilities count via toilets, washbasins, and the bathing facility (shower and/or bath), each with its own points value, supplemented by points for extra features such as a second washbasin or a more luxurious finish.
The sanitary valuation is built up from separate components: the number of toilets (with its own, lower points value for a wall-hung toilet), the number of washbasins (where an additional washbasin in the same space carries a slightly different valuation than the first), and the presence of a shower, a bath, or both.
The combination of a shower and a bath in the same bathroom generally earns more points than either on its own. In addition, extra features for the bathing facility, such as a second showerhead, a steam function, or a more luxurious finish, can contribute to the points total, generally up to a maximum linked to the base valuation of the bathing facility.
The absence of certain sanitary facilities does not produce a negative contribution in itself, but it does result in a lower total because the relevant points are simply not awarded.
As with the kitchen, shared sanitary facilities in non-self-contained housing are valued separately under the rules for communal areas, rather than under this sanitary valuation for an own, self-contained home.
