A storage room or shed belonging to the home usually counts as an other space in the WWS: 0.75 points per m². Storage is not a room and may not be counted at 1 point per m². Shared storage is divided over the entitled addresses.

How storage counts
Other spaces such as storage rooms, sheds and attics not fitted out as rooms count for 0.75 points per m². Shared storage counts for 0.75 points per m², divided by the number of entitled addresses.
The policy manual sets requirements including minimum area and height; not every cupboard or alcove counts.
Worked example (fictitious)
A fictitious flat has a private 6 m² basement storage room: 6 × 0.75 = 4.5 points. A shared 40 m² bicycle store for 10 addresses gives 0.75 × 40 ÷ 10 = 3 points.
What this means for you
Forgotten storage is a common cause of under-assessment; storage wrongly counted as a room of over-assessment. A measurement report records this.
